P. J. Marshall

Peter James Marshall (1933-2025) was a prominent British historian specializing in imperial history, particularly eighteenth-century British India. He served as Rhodes Professor of Imperial History at King's College London from 1980 to 1993, becoming Emeritus Professor thereafter, and authored key works like *The Impeachment of Warren Hastings* and *The Oxford History of the British Empire, Vol. II*. He was President of the Royal Historical Society from 1996 to 2000.[1][2][3][4]
