Osvaldo Hurtado
Luis Osvaldo Hurtado Larrea is an Ecuadorian author, lawyer, sociologist, and politician who served as President of Ecuador from 1981 to 1984, assuming office after the death of President Jaime Roldós.[2][3] He founded the Christian Democratic Party of Ecuador in 1964 and has authored notable books such as 'El poder político en el Ecuador' (1977), 'Las costumbres de los ecuatorianos' (2007), and 'Dictaduras del siglo XXI' (2021).[1][8] Hurtado also held academic positions, including professor of sociology at the Catholic University of Quito, and contributed to Ecuador's democratic transition.[1][8]
