Olivia Snowe

Olympia Jean Snowe (née Bouchles) is an American businesswoman and politician who served as a U.S. Senator from Maine from 1995 to 2013 and as a U.S. Representative from 1979 to 1995. She was the first woman in American history to serve in both houses of a state legislature and both houses of Congress, and the youngest Republican woman elected to the House at age 31. Known for her bipartisanship, she authored 'Fighting for Common Ground' and founded the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute.
