Okakura Kakuzo
Okakura Kakuzō (1863–1913), also known as Okakura Tenshin, was a prominent Japanese scholar, art critic, and educator who played a pivotal role in preserving and promoting traditional Japanese art during the Meiji era's rapid Westernization. He founded the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and later the Japan Fine Arts Academy, and served as head of the Oriental art department at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Best known internationally for his book 'The Book of Tea' (1906), he advocated for the harmony of Eastern aesthetics and culture.
