Novellino

Novellino, also known as *Il Novellino* or *The Hundred Old Tales*, is an anonymous medieval Italian collection of 100 short stories and anecdotes written before 1300. The compiler is unknown, though scholars have suggested he may have been a minstrel or *giullare* with literary training.[1][2][6]
