Norman S. Newton

Norman S. Newton was a polymath author, poet, and dramatizer of myth, born in July 1929 in Vancouver, Canada, to parents who immigrated from England after World War I. He wrote numerous books on topics including Scottish islands like Islay and Shetland, Haida culture in Fire in the Raven’s Nest, and historical works such as Lost Inverness, while early in life working as a mess boy, actor, playwright, and BBC freelancer in Ireland and London during the 1950s.[2][3][6]
