Noah Webster

Noah Webster (1758–1843) was an American lexicographer, textbook pioneer, and spelling reformer known as the 'Father of American Scholarship and Education.' He authored the famous 'Blue-Back Speller' textbooks and compiled the first major dictionary of American English, *An American Dictionary of the English Language*, published in 1828[1][3]. Webster also contributed to American identity through his work as a political writer, editor, and advocate for copyright laws, universal education, and the abolition of slavery[2][7].
