Nilima Rao

Nilima Rao is a Fijian Indian Australian author who has described herself as 'culturally confused' but has since embraced that everyone shares such confusions, as published by Australia's Special Broadcasting Service. Her award-winning debut novel, *A Disappearance in Fiji* (2024), set in colonial Fiji in 1914, won the American Library Association Reading List for Mystery Fiction and was named an Amazon Best Debut of the Year. Her latest book, *A Shipwreck in Fiji*, was published in April 2025.
