Nikolai Nikulin

Nikolai Nikolaevich Nikulin was a Soviet and Russian art historian, professor, and memoirist, born on April 7, 1923, in Pogoriełka village, Yaroslavl Governorate. He served as a sergeant in the Red Army during World War II, was wounded four times, and ended the war in Berlin before being demobilized in 1945 due to injuries. Renowned for his book 'Vospominaniya o voine' (Memories of War), published in 2007, and over 160 works on Northern Renaissance painting, he was a leading researcher at the Hermitage Museum and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts until his death on March 19, 2009, in Saint Petersburg.
