Nick Heil is a freelance writer and former editor at Outside magazine who has written for outdoor publications including Men’s Journal, Skiing, and Outside. He is the author of *Dark Summit: The True Story of Everest’s Most Controversial Season*, which won the Banff Mountain Book Festival’s Mountain Literature award in 2008.
