Niall Ferguson
Niall Ferguson is a Scottish-American historian, author, and commentator born in Glasgow in 1964, known for his works on financial history, empires, and Western civilization including bestsellers like The Ascent of Money, Civilization: The West and the Rest, and the first volume of his Kissinger biography. He has held prominent academic positions such as Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History at Harvard University, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford, and senior faculty fellow at Harvard's Belfer Center. A prolific writer and media contributor, he founded Greenmantle LLC and is married to author Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
