Nelson
Jill Nelson is an American journalist, author, and professor born in Harlem, New York, to a dentist father and librarian mother. She earned degrees from City College of New York and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, worked as a freelance journalist and at the Washington Post, and published her bestselling memoir Volunteer Slavery in 1993, along with other works on African American experiences and novels. From 1998 to 2003, she taught journalism at City College of New York and hosted writing workshops.[2]
