Nell Benjamin

Nell Benjamin is a Tony-nominated lyricist, composer, and playwright best known for co-writing the score to Legally Blonde: The Musical with her husband Laurence O'Keefe, earning Olivier and Tony nominations, and for her lyrics to Mean Girls, which also received Tony recognition. Her play The Explorers Club won the Outer Critics Circle Award, and she has contributed to numerous musicals including Because of Winn Dixie, Pirates!, and Sarah, Plain and Tall, as well as television and film projects. She holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a master's in women's studies from Trinity College Dublin.
