Neil Wilson
Neil Wilson is a freelance Scottish travel writer and guidebook author born in Glasgow, Scotland, who moved to Edinburgh at age 18 and lived there for over 30 years before settling in Perthshire. Since 1988, he has written and photographed more than 100 guidebooks, including around 80 for Lonely Planet specializing in the UK and Ireland, such as Scotland, Ireland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dublin guides. He has also authored non-fiction books on topics like walking guides, sea disasters, and navigation, contributed to textbooks, newspapers, magazines, and websites, and is an avid outdoors enthusiast with experience in rock climbing, hill-walking, and other sports across four continents.
