Nancy Singleton Hachisu

Nancy Singleton Hachisu is a California native and Stanford graduate who moved to Japan in 1988, married Japanese farmer Tadaaki Hachisu, and has since lived on an organic farm in rural Saitama.[1][2][3] She developed a passion for cooking from childhood, focusing on Japanese cuisine, and has authored five cookbooks including Japan: The Cookbook and Japan: The Vegetarian Cookbook.[3][4] A James Beard award recipient, she writes for publications like National Geographic and Saveur, advocating for Japan's artisanal food traditions.[3]
