Nancy Knowlton
Nancy Knowlton is a renowned coral reef biologist and Sant Chair for Marine Science Emerita at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. She has made major contributions to the fields of genetics, evolution, ecology, and the behavior of reef-building corals, and is recognized as a world-renowned educator, mentor, and science communicator. She is the founding director of the Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation at Scripps and author of the book Citizens of the Sea.
