Nancy Griffith

Nanci Griffith was an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter born in Seguin, Texas, known for her literary storytelling style and folk-country music (which she called 'folkabilly'). She won a Grammy Award in 1994 for the album 'Other Voices, Other Rooms' and became a fixture on PBS's Austin City Limits starting in 1985. Her carefully crafted songs such as 'Love at the Five and Dime' and 'Gulf Coast Highway' became permanent fixtures in the folk-country canon.
