Nancy Abelmann

Nancy Abelmann was an American anthropologist and professor whose work focused on family, class, gender, education, and migration, especially in South Korea and Korean/Asian America. She taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she held major appointments in anthropology, Asian American studies, and East Asian languages and cultures, and she died in 2016 after battling cancer.
