Nadje Al-Ali
Nadje Al-Ali is the Robert Family Professor of International Studies, Professor of Anthropology and Middle East Studies, and Director of the Center for Middle East Studies at Brown University. Her research focuses on feminist activism, gendered mobilization, transnational migration, and diaspora mobilization, primarily in Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, and the Kurdish political movement. She has authored and co-edited numerous books, including 'Iraqi Women: Untold Stories from 1948 to the Present' (2007) and 'We are Iraqis: Aesthetics & Politics in a Time of War' (2013), which won the 2014 Arab-American Book Prize for non-fiction.
