N. N. Bhattacharyya

Narendra Nath Bhattacharyya (N. N. Bhattacharyya) was an Indian scholar and professor born into a poor Brahmin family in the village of Ichadaghariya near Rangia in Assam's Kamrup district. He served as Professor and former Head of the Department of Geography at Gauhati University, Guwahati, and authored notable works on Indian religious history including 'History of the Tantric Religion' and 'History of Sakta Religion.' He passed away on 29 January 2023.
