Mrs. John M. E. W. Sherwood

Mrs. John M. E. W. Sherwood was the pen name of Mary Elizabeth Wilson Sherwood (1826–1903), an American author and socialite known for short stories, poetry, etiquette manuals, and memoirs. She also contributed to numerous magazines and translated poems from European languages, and published works such as "The Sarcasm of Destiny," "A Transplanted Rose," and "Manners and Social Usages."
