Mór Jókai

Mór Jókai (1825–1904) was one of the most important Hungarian novelists of the 19th century, also known for his work as a playwright, translator, and journalist. He was active in the 1848 Hungarian Revolution and later devoted himself to literature, producing numerous novels that helped shape modern Hungarian literary language.
