Montague Rhodes James
Montague Rhodes James (1862–1936) was an eminent English medievalist scholar, provost of King's College, Cambridge (1905–1918) and Eton College (1918–1936), and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge (1913–1915).[1][2] Renowned for cataloguing medieval manuscripts and directing the Fitzwilliam Museum, he is best remembered for his innovative ghost stories, which pioneered the 'antiquarian ghost story' genre using realistic settings.[1][2][3]
