Monica Trasandes

Monica Trasandes is a Uruguayan-American author, playwright, and media advocate born in Montevideo, Uruguay, who grew up in California. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from U.C. Santa Barbara and an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College. Her novel 'Broken Like This' was published in 2012 by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin's Press, and she has served as Director of Programs, Spanish-Language and Latinx Media at GLAAD for over a decade, working to increase LGBTQ representation in Spanish-language and Latinx media.
