Monica Itoi Sone
Monica Itoi Sone (1919–2011) was a Japanese American writer and clinical psychologist best known for her 1953 memoir, Nisei Daughter. Born in Seattle, she wrote about growing up as a Nisei in Seattle and about her family’s forced relocation and incarceration during World War II, making her work an important text in Asian American literature.
