Mohamed Gad-el-Hak
Mohamed Gad-el-Hak is an American engineering scientist born in Tanta, Egypt, renowned for his pioneering work in flow control, turbulence, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), microfluidics, and nanotechnology. He earned his B.Sc. summa cum laude from Ain Shams University in 1966 and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, holding previous positions at USC and Notre Dame before becoming Inez Caudill Eminent Professor of biomedical engineering and professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University since 2002. He has authored influential books including 'Flow Control: Passive, Active, and Reactive Flow Management' and edited 'The MEMS Handbook'.
