Mo Willems
Mo Willems is an American writer, animator, and children's book author born in Des Plaines, Illinois, who grew up in New Orleans. He began his career as a writer and animator for Sesame Street, winning six Emmy Awards, before transitioning to children's books in 2003 with his debut picture book Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, which won a Caldecott Honor. He has since authored and illustrated over 50 children's books featuring beloved characters like Knuffle Bunny and Elephant & Piggie, and served as the inaugural Kennedy Center Education Artist-in-Residence from 2019-2022.
