Miriam Waddington
Miriam Waddington (née Dworkin) was a prominent Canadian poet, short story writer, and translator, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and associated with the modernist literary circle in Montreal including F.R. Scott, Irving Layton, and Louis Dudek. She studied English at the University of Toronto (B.A. 1939) and social work at the University of Pennsylvania (M.A.), later teaching at McGill and York University while contributing significantly to Canadian and Jewish literature. She died in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2004 after a stroke.
