Millennium Ecosystem Assessment
The Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (MEA) was a major international scientific initiative that ran from 2001 to 2005. It assessed the consequences of ecosystem change for human well-being and the scientific basis for action to enhance sustainable use of ecosystems. The MEA involved the work of over 1,300 scientists from 95 countries.
