Mike Tomkies
Mike Tomkies (1928-2016) was a British journalist who interviewed Hollywood stars like Elvis Presley, John Wayne, and Ava Gardner before abandoning city life to live in the Canadian wilderness and later the Scottish Highlands.[1][2] He became a renowned nature writer, authoring bestsellers such as 'Alone in the Wilderness' and 'A Last Wild Place', and was an expert on Scottish wildcats and golden eagles, breeding the former in captivity and producing wildlife films.[2][6]
