Miguel de Cervantes

Miguel de Cervantes (1547–1616) was a Spanish novelist, playwright, and poet, best known as the creator of Don Quixote, often regarded as the first modern novel and one of the greatest works in world literature. His life included military service, captivity in Algiers, and later work as a tax collector and civil servant before he achieved lasting literary fame.
