Michael W. Smith

Michael Whitaker Smith is an American musician, songwriter, and author born October 7, 1957, who has achieved significant success in both contemporary Christian and mainstream music charts. He has sold more than 18 million albums, written over 36 No. 1 songs, and won three Grammy Awards and 45 Dove Awards. Beyond music, Smith is known for his philanthropic work, including raising funds to combat AIDS in Africa and helping over 70,000 children through Compassion International.
