Michael W. Sherer

Michael W. Sherer, born December 3, 1952, in Highland Park, Illinois, is an American author known for his Emerson Ward mystery series featuring a Chicago-based former stockbroker turned freelance writer and amateur detective. After diverse careers including manual laborer, bartender, restaurant manager, commercial photographer, magazine editor, and PR executive, he transitioned to full-time writing, also authoring the Seattle-based Blake Sanders thriller series starting with Night Blind and the stand-alone novel Island Life. A member of Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers, he resides in the Seattle area.
