Michael Sweeney
Michael S. Sweeney (1958-2022) was an American journalist, historian, and emeritus professor of journalism at Ohio University, where he authored 25 academic and popular books on topics including wartime censorship and American media history. His notable work, *Secrets of Victory: The Office of Censorship and the American Press and Radio in World War II*, was named the 2002 Book of the Year by the American Journalism Historians Association. He began his career as a photographer and reporter before transitioning to academia, earning degrees from the University of Nebraska, University of North Texas, and Ohio University.[1][3][6]
