Michael Ryan

Michael Ryan (born 1946 in St. Louis) is an acclaimed American poet and professor who has been teaching creative writing and literature at University of California, Irvine since 1990. He has written multiple books of poetry, an autobiography, a memoir, and essays about poetry and writing, winning prestigious awards including the Yale Series of Younger Poets Award, the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award.
