Michael Palmer
Michael Palmer (1943-2013) was an American physician and bestselling author of medical thrillers, including Extreme Measures (adapted into a 1996 film), The Second Opinion, and Political Suicide, with his works translated into 35 languages. He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University, trained at Boston City and Massachusetts General Hospitals, and practiced internal and emergency medicine for 20 years while serving as associate director of the Massachusetts Medical Society’s physician health program. Palmer overcame personal struggles with prescription drug abuse to establish a successful writing career.
