Michael Martchenko
Michael Martchenko is a Canadian illustrator born in Carcassonne, France, in 1942, who moved to Canada at age seven and graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1966. He began his career as an art director in advertising before becoming renowned for illustrating over 40 books by Robert Munsch, starting with The Paper Bag Princess in 1980, and has also illustrated works by other authors and created two self-illustrated books.[1][2][3][4][6]
