Michael Jenkins

Sir Michael Romily Heald Jenkins was a British diplomat who had a distinguished career in the Foreign Office, serving in postings including Paris, Moscow, Bonn, Washington, and Brussels, and as British Ambassador to the Netherlands from 1988 to 1993.[1][2][3] He was Deputy Secretary-General of the European Commission and was knighted in 1990.[1][3] After retirement, he wrote memoirs like A House in Flanders and a biography of Russian statesman Aleksey Arakcheyev.[1][4]
