Michael Hyde

Michael Hyde is an Australian author who has been writing for over 40 years, primarily young adult fiction such as *Footy Dreaming*, *MAX*, and *Tyger Tyger*, along with his memoir *All Along the Watchtower* about the 1960s in Australia. Born in 1945 in Cessnock, NSW, he grew up in a religious family, attended Monash University where he participated in Vietnam War protests, and later taught English before lecturing in Creative Writing at Victoria University, earning teaching excellence awards and a PhD in 2013 on the 1960s Australian rebellion.[2][4][5][6]
