Michael F. Graves

Michael F. Graves is Professor Emeritus of Literacy Education at the University of Minnesota, where he focused his research and writing on vocabulary learning and instruction. A former high school English teacher, he authored influential books including The Vocabulary Book (2nd edition), Teaching Vocabulary to English-Language Learners (2012), and Essential Readings on Vocabulary Instruction (2009). He was inducted into the Reading Hall of Fame in 2006 for his contributions to literacy education.
