Michael Bernard-Donals

Michael Bernard-Donals is the Chaim Perelman Professor of Rhetoric and Culture and Nancy Hoefs Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he has taught since 1998, and director of the Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies since 2011.[1][2][3] Originally from Queens, New York, he earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and Ph.D. in English from Stony Brook University, previously teaching at Mississippi State University and the University of Missouri.[1][2][4] His research focuses on rhetorical history and theory, memory and memorial culture, Holocaust studies, and Jewish rhetorics, with key publications including *Mikhail Bakhtin: Between Phenomenology and Marxism* (1994) and *Between Witness and Testimony* (2001).[1][3]
