Michael A. Covington

Michael A. Covington, Ph.D., is a former Senior Research Scientist Emeritus and Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the University of Georgia's Institute for Artificial Intelligence, where he worked since 1984 after earning his PhD from Yale University in 1982. An expert in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and computer science, he has authored or co-authored 10 books and over 30 peer-reviewed papers. Now an independent consultant in Athens, Georgia, he is also a prolific author on astrophotography, with books like Digital SLR Astrophotography and Astrophotography for the Amateur, and contributes articles to Space.com.
