Mia Consalvo

Mia Consalvo is an American professor of Communication Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, where she holds the position of Canada Research Chair in Game Studies and Design. She is an influential scholar of video games and gaming culture, having authored four books including Cheating: Gaining Advantage in Videogames and Players and Their Pets: Gaming Communities from Beta to Sunset[4][6]. Her research focuses on game studies, qualitative research methods, new media, and popular culture[2].
