Mervyn Morris

Mervyn Eustace Morris is a Jamaican poet, writer, editor, and professor emeritus at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Born in Kingston in 1937, he studied at the University of the West Indies and at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, later becoming Jamaica’s first Poet Laureate after independence and receiving the Order of Merit in 2009.[1][2][6]
