Menachem M Schneerson

Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-1994), known as the Lubavitcher Rebbe, was the seventh leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic dynasty, transforming it into a global movement with thousands of educational and social centers. Born in Nikolaev, Russia, to renowned scholars Rabbi Levi Yitzchak and Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson, he studied in Berlin and Paris before arriving in New York in 1941, where he assumed leadership in 1950 after his father-in-law's passing. A prolific author on Jewish mysticism, Torah, and philosophy, he is considered one of the most influential Jewish figures of the 20th century.
