Mem Fox
Mem Fox, born Merrion Frances Partridge, is an acclaimed Australian author of children's books and literacy expert who grew up in Zimbabwe with her missionary parents before studying drama in London and returning to Australia in 1970. She wrote her first book, Possum Magic, in the late 1970s while studying children's literature, which became Australia's best-selling picture book with over three million copies sold. A retired Associate Professor of Literacy Studies at Flinders University, she has authored over 45 children's books and several non-fiction works on literacy, translated into 23 languages.[1][2][3][4]
