Melvin Burgess
Melvin Burgess is a British writer of children's and young adult fiction, born on April 25, 1954, who rose to fame in 1996 with his novel Junk about heroin-addicted teenagers in Bristol[1][4]. He won the Carnegie Medal in 1990 for The Cry of the Wolf and has published over 20 books, including post-apocalyptic novels like Bloodtide and Bloodsong[4][10].
