Megan Rohrer
Rev. Dr. Megan Rohrer is an American transgender activist, author, filmmaker, musician, and historian known for advocacy in homeless and LGBTQ+ rights.[1][2][3] They became the first openly transgender minister ordained in the Lutheran tradition and, in May 2021, the first transgender bishop in a major U.S. Christian denomination as bishop of the Sierra Pacific Synod of the ELCA.[1][2][8] Rohrer holds a PhD in Transformative Studies and a Doctor of Ministry, with works including 'Letters For My Brothers' (Lambda Literary Award finalist) and 'Trans Theology Without Apology'.[2][3][4]
