May Sarton

May Sarton was a prolific Belgian-American poet, novelist, and memoirist known for her introspective and lyrical works exploring themes of solitude, love, and the creative process. Born in Belgium and raised in the United States, she published over 50 books, including poetry collections, novels, and journals, and received numerous awards for her literary contributions. Her later years were spent in Maine, where she continued writing until her death in 1995.
