Maurice 1907- Ashley

Maurice Percy Ashley CBE (1907–1994) was a British historian known for his work on 17th-century England, especially the Civil War and the Cromwellian Protectorate. He authored more than thirty books and served as editor of The Listener; his biographies of Oliver Cromwell and General Monck were especially well regarded.
